Community Land Accelerator pilot project with Crown Estate Scotland announced

An innovative new Community Land Accelerator pilot project with Crown Estate Scotland has been announced.

In the Scottish Land Commission’s 2022 recommendations on Natural Capital and Land: Recommendations for a Just Transition, we identified the leadership role that public land owners can play in helping diversify land ownership in Scotland, including enabling community land acquisition.

We are now pleased to be working with Crown Estate Scotland to explore how they could help local communities who want to own local assets but are unable to act quickly enough, particularly in the current fast-paced land market.

We will be working with Crown Estate Scotland to design and pilot the approach and we hope to learn from this to help inform what others can also do.

More information on the Community Land Accelerator project is available on the Crown Estate Scotland website.
